The Directors
Band Director - Chris Campbell
Mr. Campbell is in his seventh year as Director of Bands at Howard High School. Mr. Campbell taught one year at Bollman Bridge Elementary School and was Asst. Band Director at Westminster High School in Carroll County for two years. Chris graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. He is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Campbell studied conducting with Dr. Harlan Parker and Mr. John Wakefield. Chris resides in Baltimore County with his wife, Kristen and kids, Lucas, Olivia, and Ethan.
Orchestra Director - Ben Denne
Mr. Denne is a graduate of Northwestern University where he studied Euphonium performance with Rex Martin and conducting with Mallory Thompson. In addition to directing the orchestra programs at Ellicott Mills Middle and Howard High Schools, Mr. Denne is co-conductor of the Howard County Regional Youth Orchestra, and a bass soloist at the Zion Lutheran church.
Mr. Denne also performs with the Greenspring Valley Orchestra on trombone and string bass, and maintains a small studio of students studying low brass instruments.
